Some
Cars have Steering controls from new and when you replace you radio you want to
keep these.
Not
all after market radio's offer this function and depending on what brand of Head
Unit you buy, depends on what to look for to ensure it is compatible with you
car.
Sony

Sony head units must have a joystick port referred to as RM-X2S or RM-X4S and it
is actually a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type socket. Only UK Spec Head units will
work with our interfaces. There is also a procedure for installing these leads
to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the
PC99-X** leads will
interface with the cars display.
When
using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also
require PC99-SON to interface with the head unit.
Kenwood

Kenwood head units must have a 4 pin mini din socket on a separate lead coming
from the head unit to be compatible, or a dedicated blue wire specifically for
steering remote. Again none of the PC99-X## leads will
interface with the cars display.
When
using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also
require PC99-KEN to interface with the head unit.
Pioneer

These
leads have now been discontinued.
Important
Note:- This lead is only compatible with Pioneer head
units up to 2004 including the following, AVIC-XI,
DEH-P1500, DEH-P1600, DEH-P2500, DEH-P2600, DEH-P2700, DEH-P3500, DEH-P3600,
DEH-P77MP, DEH-P7600, DEH-P8600, DEH-P80P.
JVC

JVC
head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type
socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these
leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above.
None of the PC99-X** leads will
interface with the cars display.
When
using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also
require PC99-SON to interface with the head unit.
Alpine

Alpine
head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type
socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these
leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the
PC99-X** leads will
interface with the cars display.
When
using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also
require PC99-ALP to interface with the head unit.
These
leads are not suitable for Alpine 2007 launch models, only use with Pre-2007
models or Post 2007 models.
Clarion

Clarion
head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type
socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these
leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the
PC99-X** leads will
interface with the cars display.
When
using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also
require PC99-CLA to interface with the head unit.
Blaupunkt

Blaupunkt
head units must have a 6 pin mini ISO socket on the head unit to be and must
be specified as Steering Remote control Ready to be compatible. Again none of the
PC99-X## leads will
interface with the cars display.
When
using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also
require PC99-BLA to interface with the head unit.
Panasonic

Panasonic
head units must have a bullet connector labelled as steering remote on the head unit to be
and must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready to be compatible. Again none of the
PC99-X## leads will
interface with the cars display.
When
using the new PC99 X** range of car steering interface leads, you will also
require PC99-PAN to interface with the head unit.
All
Other makes
No
other model of head unit can be installed and connected to the steering
controls, for this scenario refer to the table marked "To
Install ISO Radio and not connect Steering Controls" if you wish to install
a radio that is not compatible, it will
still work as a normal radio.
