Some
Cars have Steering controls from new and when you replace you radio you want to
keep these.
Not
all after market radio's offer this function and depending on what brand of Head
Unit you buy, depends on what to look for to ensure it is compatible with you
car. These are one piece leads that connect the chosen radio directly to the
car. Do not confuse with Autoleads parts PC99 which are a two piece
solution.
Sony
Sony head units must have a joystick port referred to as RM-X2S or RM-X4S and it
is actually a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type socket. Only UK Spec Head units will
work with our interfaces. There is also a procedure for installing these leads
to ensure it recognizes the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the
leads will
interface with the cars display.
Kenwood
Kenwood head units must have a 4 pin mini din socket on a separate lead coming
from the head unit to be compatible, or a dedicated blue wire specifically for
steering remote. Again none of the leads will
interface with the cars display.
Pioneer
Pioneer
head units must have a port referred to as remote ready and it
is actually a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type socket. Only UK Spec Head units will
work with our interfaces. There is also a procedure for installing these leads
to ensure it recognizes the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the leads will
interface with the cars display.
JVC
JVC
head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type
socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these
leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above.

Alpine
Alpine
head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type
socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these
leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the

Clarion

head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type
socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these

head units must have a 6 pin mini ISO socket on the head unit to be and must
be specified as Steering Remote control Ready to be compatible. Again none of the

head units must have a bullet connector labelled as steering remote on the head unit to be
and must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready to be compatible. Again none of the
leads will
interface with the cars display.
All
Other makes
No
other model of head unit can be installed and connected to the steering
controls, for this scenario refer to the table marked "To
Install ISO Radio and not connect Steering Controls" if you wish to install
a radio that is not compatible, it will
still work as a normal radio.
