More Information > Steering Control Interfaces Connects2

Some Cars have Steering controls from new and when you replace you radio you want to keep these.

Not all after market radio's offer this function and depending on what brand of Head Unit you buy, depends on what to look for to ensure it is compatible with you car. These are a two piece solution where one main interface lead connects to the car and seperate patch lead connects to the chosen head unit. Do not confuse with Autoleads parts PC99 which are not compatible with CT leads.

Sony

Sony head units must have a joystick port referred to as RM-X2S or RM-X4S and it is actually a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type socket. Only UK Spec Head units will work with our interfaces. There is also a procedure for installing these leads to ensure it recognizes the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the leads will interface with the cars display.

Kenwood

Kenwood head units must have a 4 pin mini din socket on a separate lead coming from the head unit to be compatible, or a dedicated blue wire specifically for steering remote. Again none of the leads will interface with the cars display.

JVC

JVC head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the leads will interface with the cars display.

Alpine

Alpine head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the leads will interface with the cars display.

Clarion

Clarion head units must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready and feature a 3,5mm Stereo head phone type socket on the back of the unit. There is also a procedure for installing these leads to ensure it recognises the remote controls, see Installation Tip above. None of the leads will interface with the cars display.

Blaupunkt

Blaupunkt head units must have a 6 pin mini ISO socket on the head unit to be and must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready to be compatible. Again none of the  leads will interface with the cars display.

Panasonic

Panasonic head units must have a bullet connector labelled as steering remote on the head unit to be and must be specified as Steering Remote control Ready to be compatible. Again none of the leads will interface with the cars display.

All Other makes

No other model of head unit can be installed and connected to the steering controls, for this scenario refer to the table marked "To Install ISO Radio and not connect Steering Controls" if you wish to install a radio that is not compatible, it will still work as a normal radio.
