From
April 2001 manufacturing date, Peugeot and Citroen cars began to utilise a
system of internal electronics called the VAN-Bus system. By September 2002 all
relevant vehicles feature this.
The
system is used for interior and convenience features such as dashboard displays,
central locking and the Radio. The removal of the original head unit (radio) can
cause faults on the VAN-bus network, this may affect the dash board displays and
central locking.
Any
problems caused like this can be resolved by the nearest Citroen or Peugeot
dealer who will re-configure the system using diagnostic computer tools.
Re-installation of the original head unit will also return the system to normal.
The
installation of harness adaptors or smart leads does not have any impact on
these faults, they must be resolved by the car dealer them selves.
We
advise any of our customers that have vehicles with this information shown
against them to remove their head unit before attempting to install a new head
unit.
