On this
page we provide more information about advantages and disadvantages of Direct
Input leads for Telemuting and Relayed Interface leads for Telemute leads.
Relayed
Interface
The
majority of Telemute cables available from the Autoleads range are relayed,
that means they contain a relay box usually 06-018 which switches the
speakers off during a call and diverts the hands free kit audio to the car
speakers. These are used when there is no existing Telephone interface in
the vehicle and/or no existing mute. These leads are the 06-0## and 06-9##
series leads. With these leads the volume is usually set with the hands free
kit, exceptions are those Telemute leads for amplified vehicles.
Direct
Input leads
Some
of the Telemute cables take advantage of existing wiring in the vehicle and
existing mute pins, such that a hands free kit can be connected into the
vehicle without a relay for the speakers. The effect is the same although
generally volume can be adjusted via the car radio. These leads are usually
less expensive and are the 06-1## series leads.
SOT
Leads
Either
type of lead are terminated for Nokia CK7W kits as standard, but can be adapted
to other hands free kits and parrot kits where an SOT lead is not available. SOT
leads are those that provide an ISO male and female connection in line with the
vehicle radio connections to connect ISO accessories such as Parrot kits.
Exact details
on what leads suit what vehicles are available on the Car Kit Installation pages
in the menu on the left, but below is a cross reference of Relayed Telemute
