Installation Tip - Ipod Charge and Play Cradle

This page gives installation advice about how to install the ipod Charge and Play cradle.

This cradle is only compatible with the 20GB ipod and should be used in conjunction with ipod head unit adaptor leads PC7-POD-1## series and PC7-POD-2## series.

The kit should include:-

Cradle

DIN mounting bracket

Mounting Screws

Installation guide.

1) If required remove the aftermarket head unit and mounting cage.

2) Fit the bracket to the mounting cage, and carefully re-fit the cage to vehicle.

3) Install the head unit adaptor lead ISO connections onto the Head unit connections.

4) Install other leads supplied with head unit adaptor into head unit, such as CD Port and Phono RCA connections.

5) Connect the head unit adaptor lead to the ipod interface module.

6) Using the screws supplied, fit the cradle to the mounting brackets.

7) Connect the Cradle to the ipod interface module supplied with the Head unit adaptor lead.

8) Connect the ground connection to the back of the head unit.

9) Carefully re-install the head unit back into the vehicle.

10) You should now be able to test the system, using selection on the head unit to pick up the audio input.

When testing the system, switch the head unit on and verify that the CD2 source can be selected using the source key, and the auxiliary audio can be heard. Connect the ipod and check that it charges when head unit ignition is on. During normal use the volume is adjusted on the head unit.
